Hello, I am the mother of a Specialist of the Army Reserve 353rd Transportation Company that deployed out of Buffalo, MN on June 30, 2008. This is his 3rd deployment to Iraq. The first two were "Regular" Army and out of Ft. Campbell, KY. My family was not able to go to those send-off's due to health and distance. We were truly honored and touched by the participation of the Patriot Guard in this proud, yet heartbreaking, day.

I have seen and read about your presence at funerals. This always made my heart fill with pride for those who have served, to honor those who gave all, in this way. I pray my next encounter with the Patriot Guard is not at my soldiers burial, but rather at his return to his family and life. Whatever this next year brings, I want to say thank you for being there.
