Hello Craig and Dave, (and to all who attended the mission for Joseph Ellis today)
My husband, Marc and I just arrived back home in the Cities after a long weekend celebrating my Grandfather's life with our family and friends. Although we are exhausted, I couldn't go to bed tonight without expressing sincere appreciation on behalf of my entire family to you both and to all of your members that attended my Grandfather's funeral today.
To pull up to the church and see your crew lining the steps and the sidewalk with your flags was truly one of the most touching sights I have seen. Then to have all of you stay until the end of the funeral to escort and salute the funeral procession as we drove by was a very humbling and patriotic experience. What an incredible tribute to our hero, Grandpa Joe.
I am not sure how many of my family personally thanked you, but I can assure you that your presence was so very appreciated by all of them. Nearly everyone I spoke to at the lunch following the burial talked about how special it was to have all of you there. Especially because we all know that my Grandpa would have been so incredibly proud and humbled to have been honored in such a way.
Words don't seem to be enough....but I'd like to just say "Thank you so very much for your selfless act of honor and kindness that you all expressed today."
With Warm Regards,
Kelly S
