To the heroes of the Patriot Guard,
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being at the
homecoming in Fairmont MN yesterday for the Red Bulls. I have learned
alot about your organization from my Father-in -Law, Terrie G. and
have always thought that what you do is wonderful. But I didn't know
how wonderful until I watched you. The first time I saw the Patriot
Guard in action was at the Luverne Memorial dedication. I felt a sense
of gratitude for the service you provide, for the respect you show, and
the heroes YOU are.
Yesterday I again watched the Patriot Guard in action. I watched you
stand in the sun and the heat, holding your flags so proudly. The
gratitude I felt for each one of you was overwhelming. I cannot
describe to you how wonderful it was to see the fire trucks carrying the
soldiers, riding between all the flags held by you men and women. Thank
you for the support you show, not only to the soldiers themselves, but
to the families as well.
We knew we were not the only ones to welcome our loved ones home. But
that there is a group of men and women from across the region who also
welcome them with flags raised in support.
Knowing how emotional just seeing the Patriot Guard made me yesterday, I
can only imagine the emotions you evoke when you stand for the fallen.
As I watched you smile at the soldiers, I felt the joy of celebrating
with you yesterday. When you stand for those who have fallen, I am sure
their families know they do not mourn alone. What a wonderful community
of support you provide!
I really can't say how grateful I am for the support you have shown to
our country's heroes. But they are not the only heroes. Each and every
one of you is a hero as well. Thank you again from the bottom of my
heart.
God bless each and every one of you!
Megan G.
