Dear Members of the Brainerd Patriot Guard,

We would like to thank you for your awsome work. We recently attended the funeral for our dear friend and neighbor Donald "Duck" Smeby in Aitkin. We were overwhelmed by the display of honor and respect. Your Guard honored our dear friend, his service to his country and our nation. We were deeply moved to drive through a corridor of patriots standing at attention proudly displaying our flag and ushering us up the walk-way to say farewell to Duck. We believe your quiet gesture of honor and respect for him would have been his favorite part of his own funeral. He would have needed nothing more. It truely felt like Holy Ground. We cannot thank you enough for your prior sacrifice in service to our nation and your present mission/ministry.
